UNITED NATIONS ANNUAL RESULTS REPORT 2025
It is with great pride and a profound sense of responsibility that I present the 2025 Annual Results Report for Cameroon. The year 2025 witnessed an unparalleled collective mobilization of our 24 agencies, funds, and programmes, in partnership with the Government and various stakeholders, to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to realize the vision of an emerging democratic country, united in its diversity by 2035.
2025 was marked by the consolidation of our achievements and an innovative response to the challenges faced by the United Nations system globally, particularly amid reduced funding. Against a backdrop characterized by persistent security challenges in the North-West, South-West and Far-North regions, recurrent climate shocks and global budgetary constraints, the United Nations system demonstrated its relevance, flexibility and capacity to deliver integrated solutions.
This report highlights the significant achievements realized through the collaborative efforts of United Nations agencies on both humanitarian and development fronts. Notably, a total of 2025 Annual Results Report 191,219 children afflicted by acute malnutrition received treatment, achieving record recovery rates as reported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme (WFP). Furthermore, national vaccination coverage rose to 88.2%, as indicated by UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO), reflecting significant advancements in human capital development.
On the socio-economic front, over 15,000 vulnerable persons, including a considerable number of women and youth, benefited from new income-generating opportunities through collaborative programmes facilitated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), The efforts to combat gender-based violence (GBV) reached a significant milestone with the setup of the first holistic care centre in Yaoundé, an initiative supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), UNHCR, and UN Women. In the realm of governance, notable advancements were made, particularly with the digitization of civil registration and the creation of platforms for citizen engagement.
These initiatives were led by UNDP, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and UN-Habitat. Moreover, climate initiatives successfully engaged entire communities in ecological restoration and sustainable energy efforts, with support from FAO, IFAD, WFP, UNHCR, UN-Habitat, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and UNDP. A key achievement was the signing of Decree No. 2025/03043/PM on 29 December 2025 on the setup, organization, and functioning of the Partnership Consultation Framework to support the implementation of the National Development Strategy (NDS30).
This framework, which emerged from collaborative advocacy by the United Nations system and various technical and financial partners, formalizes strategic dialogue between the Government and its partners, fostering improved coordination, alignment, and monitoring of development interventions. These results are no accident. They reflect the dedication and collaborative efforts of United Nations agencies, close partnerships with the Government across approximately 20 ministries, and sustained cooperation with civil society, the private sector, and technical and financial partners.
As we approach the final year of the 2022–2026 Cooperation Framework, our commitment remains steadfast: leave no one behind. The roadmap for 2026 is clearly outlined, focusing on accelerating progress towards the SDGs, consolidating the humanitarian-development-peace nexus, promoting employment opportunities for youth and women, and enhancing climate resilience in response to increasingly frequent disruptions. I invite you to read this report to gain insights, supported by evidence-based data and narratives of change, illustrating how the United Nations system in Cameroon contributes to the ongoing effort to build a better future for all.
