The UNESCO Office for Central Africa was honored to host the exhibition "The Life Sharing" by UNESCO Artist for Peace Barthelemy TOGUO, from 29 June to 5 July 2022. This art exhibition and book signing was also marked by the launching of the artistic works of two young Cameroonian talents under the mentorship of the UNESCO artist for peace. In an effort to promote young artists, Barthelemy TOGUO exhibited alongside MANGA OLINGA Franklin, 19 years old, specialized in pen portraits and a product of the Institute of Artistic Training of Mbalmayo and student at the Institute of Fine Arts of Nkongsamba. The second young artist, Damien Senyuy, 36, who dedicates his work to "children's dreams", is a student at the University of Yaoundé I and a product of the Awalters Arts Institute in Bamenda, North West region.
Attended by a host of diplomats, development partners and the public in Cameroon, the artist schooled his audience through his creations that explore the virtues of nature and the dysfunctions of the world to better denounce them. His work equally questions on the status of foreigners, migrants, immigrants, and their struggle to build an identity. During the event, Barthelemy TOGUO also revealed his mission as UNESCO Artist for Peace and presented his project aimed to discover potential artistic talents in young people in the Central African sub-region and support them into a successful career. Through his non-profit project "Bandjoun Station" which is an artistic academy, he is using the platform to mentor and coach young talents.
