When Cameroonian bloggers raise the voices of children in conflict with the law

In this year’s commemoration of the day of the African child, Cameroonian bloggers took the opportunity to raise the voices of children in conflict with the law.

This was done through a competition on the best production organized by the Cameroonian blogger’s association supported by UNICEF.

The contest was opened to journalists, web-journalists and bloggers residing in Cameroon and consists in writing an original article/blog post with rich-media content (photos, videos, graphics), on this year’s theme: “Access to a Child-Friendly Justice System in Africa.” The author of the article had to choose one of the following angles: the situation of children detained in prisons; the situation of children in conflict with the law; the absence of an effective inventory of the structures for the support of children; the difficulty of identifying responsible parents/relatives; the situation of the children who continue to do petty trade on the streets; Covid-19 and its effect on children.

The best productions received prices such as Computer equipment and smartphones handed by the UNICEF Country Representative Jacques Boyer. This equipment will enable them to better defend the cause of Children.
